Overseer Tonya L. Davis
Tonya Davis was born on September 24,1971 to Barbara Harris and George Rideaux. Under the direction and great leadership of Bishop Alex Berry she was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. In 1993, Davis met a life changing mentor by the name of Archbishop Veron Ashe. She traveled with Bishop Ashe throughout the country and overseas learning about mission work, fasting, and discipline. In 1998, Davis was installed as a pastor by Bishop Berry and the vision of Shekinah Glory International Fellowship began to manifest. In 2001, Shekinah Glory found a birthing place in the Acres Home Community of the North side of Houston, Texas. The ministry has continued to serve, bless, and fellowship in the neighborhood. In December 2006, Davis was elevated into the episcopacy as an Overseer. Davis is a member of the Joint College of Bishops of Cleveland, Ohio. The honorable, Archbishop Delano Ellis is the presiding prelate. Davis is also a proud member of the Rhema Fellowship where her pastor is the presiding Bishop David E. Martin of Dallas, Texas. Davis has an AA in Arts from Houston Community College, BA in Psychology and a BA in Christianity and Masters in Education from Houston Baptist University. Overseer Davis is the proud author of her first works entitled "Small Foxes Revealed " with several more books in her spirit to write. Davis is married to Anthony L. Davis and the proud mother of three beautiful children, Erin, Eli, and Ethan. God has given Davis an impactful, refreshing and inspiring ministry. It is only through God she has accomplished all of these things and only through Him she is allotted the opportunity to serve God's people. Because of who He is in her life, she has adapted the phrase "To God Be the Glory!" Although much has been taken, still much abides.
Our Vision
Shekinah Glory International Fellowship is a church located in the heart of the Acres Homes community and was established in March 2002 with set goals and a vision to improve and contribute to the local environment. Shekinah Glory was founded by a product of the community, Tonya L. Davis, as a mandate from the Lord to give back to the Acres Home Community. The Acres Homes community services the majority of the Aldine Senior High School. SGIF will assist families as a whole unit through outreach with the goal in mind to edify and bring long term results to individuals in the community. Some of the outreach programs include but are not limited to education, employment assistance, placement, rebuilding families, counseling, bridging gaps, basic needs, spiritual guidance, rehab assistance, and financial recovery. SGIF will constantly develop new programs and promote ideas that will assist the church in completing goals for the surrounding areas but keeping a solid foundation of faith according to the Holy Scriptures.

We Believe
*That the bible is divinely inspired and is the revealed will of God.
*In the triune Godhead-Father, Son, Holy Spirit *That Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died for the remission of our sins, rose from the dead victoriously and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. *In an eternal place of happiness for the saved and an eternal place of punishment for the lost. *In personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus. *In sanctification, personal holiness of purity of heart and life. *that Jesus bore stripes on His back for our divine healing. *In water baptism, in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, in the gifts of the Spirit and the evidence of the fruits of the spirit *In the soon-coming return of the Lord Jesus Christ *In evangelism and missionary work in accordance with the Christian commission (Matthew 28:19) |
